Eve Knudtsen has long advocated for education and economic development in North Idaho. With deep community roots and a legacy of public service inspired by her grandfather, She is focused on ensuring NIC’s continued success and stability.
Her campaign prioritizes safeguarding the college’s accreditation and strengthening its professional and workforce training programs. “NIC plays a critical role in preparing students and creating a skilled workforce, essential for our region’s economic growth and our children’s future opportunities,” Knudtsen said.
Responding to concerns raised by faculty and students about overboard governance, Knudtsen is committed to restoring trust and fostering transparent leadership. She aims to create an environment where every voice is respected and heard.
She supports commonsense initiatives like Idaho’s Advanced Opportunities/Fast Forward program, which helps high school students earn college credits or take workforce training courses.
With extensive experience on local, state, and national boards, Knudtsen brings a wealth of leadership and fiscal oversight to her candidacy.

Bio
Eve Knudtsen, a former North Idaho College student, is President and Dealer Operator of Knudtsen Chevrolet in Post Falls. She is the third generation to own and operate the dealership her grandfather started in 1939.
She began her career at the family dealership in 1978 at the age of 15 working in a variety of capacities. She took over the role and responsibilities of general manager at Knudtsen Chevrolet in 1988.
Knudtsen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
Knudtsen has been committed to educational initiatives throughout North Idaho for 30+ years. She played a key role in founding the Kootenai Technical Education Center (KTEC), a career technical high school serving three school districts. Her commitment is so great that she was one of the individuals who purchased the land for KTEC.
Eve has a long-standing passion for serving her community and industry. Eve has served on the North Idaho College Foundation board, a nonprofit that raises money for scholarships to help students afford their higher education journeys.
Eve lives in Hayden with her husband, Wayne Cofield. She has two daughters and two grandchildren.
